I started making DIY crochet washcloths along time ago. Over the years I’ve tried various patterns and eventually developed one that I love. I started with just a simple single crocheted washcloth, then decided to make a textured washcloth. This is the pattern I created for the style of DIY crochet washcloth I like to make which ends up approximately 7″ by 7″. These DIY crochet washcloths can be scaled up or down to fit your liking.

These washcloths make wonderful DIY gifts! I frequently add a few washcloths to housewarming gifts or wedding gifts. I get so many requests for these washcloths, that I made a pattern for y’all to make your own!

You can resize these washcloths to make larger or smaller ones as well. Just add or subtract in twos. For example, I will sometimes make extra large washcloths by chaining 30 instead of 22. This scales it up by 4 sections or scrubby bumps. I will typically add rows until the washcloth is square or has the same amount of raised scrubby bumps in each direction.
